Hello
Growing up in New York, I never thought about life outside of my family or even beyond my neighborhood. The farthest my world went was over the bridge to the city or on the subway up to the Bronx. I grew up believing that this was the only city with the finest restaurants, the best theatre and the world's best museums. In a million years, I would never have imagined not living in New York. That all changed one cold winter day in March 1972.
My Story
I developed an interest in writing after an unpleasant experience in grade school. One of my teachers attempted to retrain me from being left-handed to using my right hand. The results were not good and my handwriting was undecipherable. Being the stubborn child, I made it a point to have the best left-handed written notes in my class and throughout the rest of my school years and I received several commendations for it. That does tell you something about me. I'm obsessive about the things I do and when there's a challenge, even more so.
It was a Saturday morning when I boarded a plane at JFK Airport, wearing ear muffs, gloves, boots and an alpaca lined coat. Upon arriving in Los Angeles and walking out of the terminal, I was greeted by palm trees, sunshine and warmth. I drove the rental car to Santa Monica and had my first look at the Pacific Ocean. Three months later, I was living in California and New York has since become a fond memory. Having said that, growing up in New York definitely shaped who I am and what I like - I like to write, paint, spend time with my family and friends, and my favorite beverage is coffee.
As a Evaluator and a Distributor for several National Retailers in the Southern California region, my projects included promoting and supporting restaurants, entertainment venues, and businesses in exceeding sales projections. One of my independent projects was with one of the largest catalog and online wellness retailers in the country with a marketing and training platform, as well as an educational forum, to help others start and run their own businesses and educate people about health and wellness, by making better, safer, smarter choices for our bodies, our homes and our environment.
This website has been in my mind for some time and I've spent the past few months in putting this site together. There were long hours, endless cups of coffee; along with many starts, stops, ideas created and then tossed. Some of what I write is different (but related) and it fits together.
I'm energized and excited to share the with you.
